A smart spinner and a handy batter, Santner was bought by CSK for INR 1.9 crore at the 2022 Mega Auction. In 2018, Santner was bought by the CSK for just INR 50 lacs, the Kiwi bowler was definitely one of the most economical buys for CSK. Santner made his debut for New Zealand when Daniel Vettori retired from his ranks and in only his first game, Santner impressed the selectors, not with the ball, but with the bat. Since his debut, Santner has been an impressive prospect although he’s had his share of ups and downs in world cricket. Santner is a handy batter lower down the order and an outstanding fielder.
