Born in Edapal, Kerala, Devdutt Padikkal represents Karnataka in domestic cricket. The 18-year old bats in the top order and has previously impressed in the Karnataka Premier League. A product of the system, Padikkal has risen through the ranks; he represented India Under-19 and soon after earned a call-up to the Karnataka Ranji Trophy side. He made a stroke-filled 77 on his Ranji Trophy debut against Maharashtra in November 2018. Padikkal was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 20 lacs at the player auction prior to IPL 2019.
