Anukul Roy, the Jharkhand all-rounder, first made his mark as the joint-highest wicket-taker in India’s victorious ICC Men’s U19 World Cup campaign in 2018, claiming 14 wickets with his left-arm spin. Mumbai Indians signed him for INR 20 Lakh the same year, but opportunities were limited, with Roy featuring in just one game across four seasons. Even so, he made his presence felt in the field and was regularly used by Mumbai as a substitute fielder. Kolkata Knight Riders secured him for INR 20 Lakh at the 2022 auction, and he has remained with the franchise since. Roy enters TATA IPL 2026 in excellent form after a standout Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign, where he was the third-highest run-scorer. He amassed 303 runs in 10 innings at an average of 60.60 and a strike rate of 160.31, playing several match-winning cameos in Jharkhand’s title run — a surge that could finally earn him a bigger role with KKR.
