MatchesPrashant Solanki, a wrist spinner from Maharashtra, first grabbed attention during the TATA IPL 2022 Mega Auction when he sparked a bidding war between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. CSK eventually secured him for INR 1.2 Crore, a significant jump from his base price of INR 20 Lakh, signalling strong interest in his leg-spin potential. He featured in two games that season. After going wicketless on debut, Solanki made an impression in his second outing, picking up the wickets of Shimron Hetmyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal, offering a glimpse of his ability to trouble attacking batters. Solanki did not feature for CSK in 2023 and 2024, but despite limited game time, his skill set as a wrist spinner has kept him in the radar. He returns to the IPL in 2026 with a fresh opportunity, joining Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 30 Lakh. In a format where wrist spin remains a valuable asset, Solanki will be keen to make the most of his second stint and push for a more consistent role.
