Rahul Tripathi made an immediate impression in the TATA IPL when he debuted for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017, carving out a reputation as a powerplay aggressor. Opening the batting, he scored 391 runs at a strike rate of 146.44, playing a key role in RPS’ run to the final and even outscoring his more established partner, Ajinkya Rahane. A move to Rajasthan Royals followed, but Tripathi found a more defined role after joining Kolkata Knight Riders in 2020, and he delivered his most memorable season in 2021. He scored 397 runs at a strike rate of 140.28, including a nerveless finish against Delhi Capitals, where he struck a six with five needed off the final two balls to seal KKR’s place in the final. Stints with Sunrisers Hyderabad between 2022 and 2024, including a run to the final, and a season with Chennai Super Kings in 2025 followed. Back with KKR, Tripathi now has an opportunity to rediscover his rhythm and re-establish himself as a dynamic force.
