Yash Thakur is an Indian right-arm medium-fast bowler who represents Vidarbha in the domestic circuit. Known for his accuracy in the death overs and his ability to consistently execute pinpoint yorkers and deceptive slower deliveries, he has established himself as a highly reliable strike bowler. Thakur began his Indian Premier League (IPL) journey with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He quickly made a name for himself during his two-season stint with the franchise, famously becoming the first bowler in the 2024 season to register a five-wicket haul when he claimed magnificent figures of 5/30 against the Gujarat Titans. Across his time with LSG, he secured 24 wickets in 19 appearances.Recognizing his immense potential as a domestic game-changer, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) acquired him for ₹1.60 Crore during the 2025 mega auction. Although he featured in just two matches during his debut season with the franchise as they made a thrilling run to the tournament final, PBKS officially retained him ahead of the 2026 season. Under the leadership of captain Shreyas Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting, Thakur is heavily backed to play a much larger role and serve as a core component of the Punjab pace attack for the upcoming campaign.
