However, it was his historic 10-wicket haul in a single Ranji Trophy innings that caught the attention of IPL franchises and sparked a bidding war in the 2025 TATA IPL Auction. Ultimately, the right-arm medium pacer from Haryana was roped in by Chennai Super Kings for INR 3.40 Crore. His ability to swing and seam the ball both ways and his impressive domestic form make him a valuable addition to CSK’s bowling attack. Turning up for CSK in the 2025 season, the 25-year-old picked up eight wickets in eight outings at 21.50 with best bowling figures of 3/13. Kamboj, who made his Test debut for India shortly after the 2025 IPL season, is known for his high-arm action and his mastery over the seam, which allows him to extract movement even on unresponsive tracks.
