Sarfaraz Khan has long been regarded as one of the most consistent run-scorers in domestic cricket. Known for his compact technique, ability to play long innings, and dominance against both pace and spin, Sarfaraz built a formidable reputation with his remarkable performances in red-ball cricket. He has also showcased his adaptability in the shorter format, with his ability to anchor innings and accelerate when required making him a valuable asset in T20 cricket. Having first earned the limelight as a 12-year-old in inter-school cricket, Sarfaraz kept rising through the ranks and had impressive outings in both the 2014 and 2016 ICC Men’s U19 World Cups for India, including topping the scoring charts among Indian batters in the latter edition. The 28-year-old has more than 5000 first-class runs at 64.73 and close to 1000 List-A runs at 42.36. While his TATA IPL career has not yet taken off the way he would have wanted, Sarfaraz goes into IPL 2026 with his new team CSK, having scored the fastest List-A half-century by an Indian (15 balls) in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
