MatchesShivam Dube first grabbed headlines when he hit five sixes in an over in a T20 league game in Mumbai before repeating the same in a Ranji Trophy match in December 2018. A powerful left-handed hitter, Dube’s career took a major positive turn since joining CSK in 2022. His explosive batting helped CSK win TATA IPL 2023, where he scored 418 runs at a strike rate of 158.33. He has the knack of picking up wickets at crucial junctures with his handy medium-pacers. Dube’s exploits at CSK also revived his international career and he has gone on to be a part of India’s back-to-back ICC Men’s T20 World Cup winning squads in 2024 and 2026. Over the past few years, he has grown into a consistent finisher with the bat and also improved as a bowler, with his ability to take on spinners and dominate them regarded as among the best in the world. Dube was one of CSK’s five retentions ahead of the TATA IPL 2025 Mega Auction and will again be a vital cog for the franchise heading into the 2026 season as CSK hunt for a record sixth title.
